You Were Born for Such a Time as This
Esther 4:14 (NKJV)
For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
In this moment of the story of Esther we see that everything had gone seemingly very wrong for the Jewish nation. A wicked national leader called Haman had risen to power and had come up with a scheme that could wipe the Jews out as a race if someone did not do something. One young lady could make all the difference and her name was Esther. She had supernaturally become queen. Mordecai her cousin gave her a plan that involved her approaching the king. This was a fifty-fifty plan because if she found favour in his sight she could ask for anything up to half of his kingdom, but if he was having a bad day or was not happy and gave her the thumbs down, she would be killed.
Mordecai ran the plan of approaching the king past her and she naturally was hesitant in her response. She said, “Maybe that is not what I want to do. Maybe there is another plan that does not put me at risk?” Mordecai ‘s reply to her was, “Yes, God could use someone else but that won’t help us now. Maybe you are God’s well- positioned master plan for this moment. Maybe you were born for this moment.”
Esther did what she needed to do and God was all over it. A nation was saved because she did not back down from a moment she had been born for.
Champion, look at your situations differently. Just like in Esther’s life, God does not make mistakes concerning where you live and when you were born. Maybe you are in a situation and you are looking for a hero or deliverer. Here’s a thought-- maybe you are the hero and deliverer and were born for this moment. Trust in the favour of God and do what you know needs to be done. Who knows, maybe you were born into that situation for a time such as this?
