Breakfast of Champions: Monday 9th November

Good Morning Champion

=LESSONS FROM THE GOLF COURSE (CONT'D)=

Let's take one more visit to the golf course to learn some more great
lessons that can help us to play life well.

Psalm 118:24-25 (NIV)
"This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. O
LORD, save us; O LORD, grant us success."

It's about getting the most out of each game.
Make sure you are enjoying today's game, not just enduring it waiting for
another. Play the best you can today, but also take time to enjoy the walk
through it. Remember, today is God's gift to you, as well as a promised
tomorrow, and it is He who will give you success in it. Even if today is not
your best game, it's still a great opportunity to improve your game. At the
very least today has the potential to teach you something that can improve
how you play tomorrow. Know there is likely to be another game tomorrow, and
in that one you can put into practice all you learnt today if you are a wise
player.

-Warn others when you hit one wrong-
If ever you have played golf you would probably have, at one time or
another, heard someone unexpectedly shout, "Fore!" This, interpreted for
non-golfers, means, "Oh no I just hit a ball wrong watch out, it could hit
you any second." At this point every one near cowers and covers their heads
to protect themselves. Every person has a bad day every now and then that's
life. When you do, and you have hit a ball wrong, make sure you are not
putting others in harm's way. Have the courtesy to warn those around you and
of course, if you accidently hit someone, make sure you have the courage to
apologise and take responsibility for your actions or words.

-Watch your scoring-
Ever played sport with a "one, two, lose a few" player? They cheat, and
their score card changes according to how badly they're playing, or how well
you are! Have you ever played that way? One great final parallel between
life and golf is "too yourself be true" don't overestimate or underestimate
how you're doing in your life and your walk with God, get the score right.
Otherwise it's a sad thing when you do improve as it will be lost in the
exaggeration of your last scoring, and that will be a shame as we all like
to see our score get better regularly, don't we?

Be true about who you are, where you're at, what you believe and, most of
all, to God. Then watch your score get better as you daily play the
incredible game of life.

Bless you,

Andy
