Breakfast of Champions: Wednesday 11th November

Good Morning Champion

=WHOLE HEARTED OF HALF-HEARTED?=

Proverbs 4:23 Amplified
Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard,
for out of it flow the springs of life.

This scripture from Proverbs offers some good advice concerning both your
natural heart and your spiritual one. Naturally, life flows from your
physical heart and your full potential is in the health and wellbeing of
it. Face it, you can be an award winning body builder but if your heart
stops, your other muscles, even though big, do not mean much at all. Life
always flows from the wellbeing of your heart. The Bible often refers to
your heart but it is not speaking of the natural blood pump, but that unseen
central place of who you are, that place that you decide, purpose and live
out from on a daily basis. It is this heart that the writer of Proverbs
specifically instructs us to be guarding.

The Hebrew word used for guard means more than to just protect, it also
means "to watch over or observe". This is very good advice because the
condition or wellbeing of your heart will ultimately determine the wellbeing
of your whole life and destiny.

The heart of you has the potential to experience, contain, and release many
things. Here are a few mentioned by the prophets:

* Isaiah 35:4 – God's people can be fearful-hearted
* Isaiah 46:12 – God's people can be stubborn-hearted
* Jeremiah 51:17 – We have the potential to be dull-hearted
* Ezekiel 3:7 – Says that we can be hard-hearted.

These are just a couple of examples of things that you need to monitor the
activity of in your heart because none of them will take you anywhere you
want to go in life. Another one I want to consider is to avoid being
half-hearted. We all have the potential to do things half-hearted or
whole-hearted and the choice of which one we work out of remains with us.

Whenever we are half hearted it means that the outcome will never be as
dynamic, fast or effective as if we were whole-hearted. When someone is
half-hearted concerning a task it means that they take a lot longer than
what they should or worse, someone else has to step in and complete it for
them which is never right.

When it comes to living for God, we should resolve that we will never be
half-hearted in any way, but rather whole-hearted concerning both Him and
His purposes. A half-hearted Church will never change this world but a
whole-hearted one will!
A half-hearted Church will fade away into the pages of history but a
whole-hearted Church will influence, change and even redefine the culture it
exists in.

Let us guard our hearts from half- heartedness and determine to give our God
the full potential of a whole heart dedicated and set apart.

Bless you

Andy
