Breakfast of Champions - Tuesday 31st March

Good morning champion.  Arise and shine it’s another God-given day.

Let’s continue to think of our due response of worship this morning

2 Samuel 6:16 (NKJV)

Now as the ark of the LORD came into the City of David, Michal, Saul’s daughter, looked through a window and saw King David leaping and whirling before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart.

·         David was a great king, leader and warrior and He was also a passionate worshipper.   The first great thing he was in life was a great worshipper.  As a young man he spent years sitting as a shepherd on a hillside and in that time he developed a passion inside Him for worshipping God.  He was wise and even when he was King he lived a life of worship  because he knew where God had brought Him from, and what He had done for Him and was doing through Him.

·         We too always need to remember where God has brought us from and what he has done for us and promised for us.  When we do, that should be more than enough to ignite our worship to Him.

·         Some people, namely His wife Michal, did not appreciate His passion for worship.  Did that stop Him?  No way!  He knew his worship was not for her or about her, but it was about His God. I am so grateful that when he was confronted about his “offensive” worship lifestyle he did not back down, far from it, he got worse.

2 Samuel 6:21 - 22 (NKJV)

So David said to Michal, “It was before the LORD, who chose me instead of your father and all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel. Therefore I will play music before the LORD. 22 And I will be even more undignified than this, and will be humble in my own sight.

·         Like David, the worshipping warrior, make sure you are not allowing people to cause you to tone down your worship but be living to be even more undignified!

·         Like David, make sure your worship ever flows from the knowledge and remembrance of who He is and all that He has done for you.

·         Like David, above every other title that man can give to you, set your heart on being known as a passionate worshipper.  If  you  get that right then  every other position and title will follow, by God’s doing and appointment.

·         Like David, worship God for being the one who see’s in you what others can’t see.  David must have ever been amazed that when others only ever saw a shepherd boy God saw a King.

Give God your worship again today and don’t let anyone hold you back.

Breakfast of Champions - Monday 30th March

Good morning and welcome to a brand new week.

Let’s look again at the response of the returning leper we looked at last week.

Luke 17: 15 - 16 (NKJV)

And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, 16 and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan.

·         When I close my eyes and think of this lone leper returning to thank Jesus for what he had done for him I get a lovely picture of it simply being what we call, worship.  Yes, he was a Samaritan and  that meant he was the least likely of the ten to worship Jesus,  but that makes it even more powerful.  Jesus deserving worship is not a cultural thing but an “everyone who has had their lives changed by Him thing”.

·         I have been challenging you to give God due response in your lives and worship, like faith it is a due response  that He deserves,  and  He is due the best of our worship.

·         Remember, worship is ‘worth ship’ (the placing of your worth on someone or something)  when you take time in your day to worship God you put your worth on Him and yes,  He so deserves it!

·         A great key to remember is that we do not worship Him firstly for what he does, but for who He is.  If you only worship Him for what he does your worship life will be like a rollercoaster.  It will be up and down,  but if you worship Him firstly for who He is you can have consistency in your worship that only ever increases when He does you good.

·         God loves your worship because it is something you choose to give away. It can’t be snatched or demanded it is freely given. Every human has worship in them to give away and you see many give it to differing things and people. Some give their worship to football teams and others to cars or pop stars. It is good for us to enjoy other things but to always make sure that the best of our worship (our greatest shout of adoration) is reserved for our King – Jesus.

Today, give God again what He is due.  Give Him your worship.

Bless you.

Andy

Breakfast of Champions - Friday 27th March

Welcome to Friday. Here we stand on the edge of another great weekend!

Here’s your Friday fry up.

Matthew 4: 18-20 (NKJV)

And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. 19 Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” 20 They immediately left their nets and followed Him.

Again,  let us consider the power of our response by considering the response of these young men who started the day as fishermen and ended the day as disciples of Jesus who would change the world.

·         What was it that changed their lives in a moment? Yes , it was about God making His intentions known but it was equally about them responding in faith to them and stepping out into the unknown.  Faith is a due response and is a response that always pleases God.

·         Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him”.

·         So for them it was a day like any other. They are busy doing what they had always done when  Jesus turns up and drops God’s divine intention for their lives into their laps.  There is no two day seminar with power point and Q & A over a meal, just a single moment where a response was needed to activate a brand new life offer.  They could have turned to Him and said, “That’s great, but a scary, “Thanks, but no thanks,” and Jesus would have turned and walked on.  They did not do that but instead they perceived that this was a God moment and responded by faith, not reason , and went with it.

·         Remember,  this is exactly what Abraham and many recorded Bible heroes did.  Abraham also was  living a normal everyday life when God’s intentions turned up out of nowhere and  he had a choice whether or not to respond  to them correctly and a whole new life started as he stepped out by faith onto a whole new map less pilgrimage of faith.

·         God’s intentions will always come to pass and  if you say, ”No,”  He will use someone else.  The annoying thing about this is that you get to see it happen and have to deal with the fact that it could have been you because that was your offer.

·         Don’t miss your God moments. I believe that God prepares our hearts for these moments of challenge prior to His arrival. We do not know what is going to happen but we know something is about to.  Make sure you are ready for God to arrive out of nowhere and offer you some of His great intentions.  Make sure that you are not like the rich young ruler who thought he was ready for His moment,  but when it came, He was not.  He couldn’t see beyond His present life of riches and privilege to that bigger, yet unseen life that Jesus was offering.

When you,  by  faith, respond correctly to God, you always end up with more.

Let’s finish today by thinking again of the returning leper

Luke 17:19 (NKJV)Then he said to him, "Get up. On your way. Your faith has healed and saved you."

He never came to get saved.  He was a Samaritan and he came to get healed.  He left healed and saved. When you respond correctly to God,  you don’t just leave with what you came for but also with what you never believed was possible!

RSVP. You will be glad you did

Have a great weekend.

Breakfast of Champions - Thursday 26th March

Good morning Hero.  It’s  another great day to live for God.

Let’s carry on with our thoughts on response and the need for us to be responding to God correctly.

Luke 1:37 - 38

For with God nothing will be impossible.” 38 Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.

·         Yesterday we shared on the importance of responding to God’s Word and that when we respond to it rather  than just read it we can release it’s potential and reality into our lives and situations.

·         So much about walking in our God-given destiny is about us responding correctly with due or correct response.  You, walking in God’s plan for your life is more about your response than His intentions.  God’s intentions for you are settled.  He is not confused (Jeremiah 29:11), but the fact is that His intentions are activated in our lives when we respond to Him correctly.

·         The Bible is a catalogue of people’s responses that allows us to see the fruit of the lives of people who responded to God both correctly and incorrectly.  Their responses should inspire us with ours.  Let’s look at a couple.

Mary – She is a young teenage girl when God appears in her life and makes His intentions known; “I want to bring the savior of the world through your life”.  This was a big shock, but notice she did not become pregnant with “the God plan” till the moment she responded with that great statement ,“Let it be to me according to your word.”  It was after she made that response that she became pregnant with “the God plan.”  God did not violate her and he won’t violate you.  He lets you know His intentions and waits for your response to activate them.

Just like with Mary, God has a whole bunch of stuff he wants to “get to the earth” and He is looking for someone like you or me to bring them through, will that be you today?  Will you allow your life to be the womb that God can use to birth something great?  All the great Christian Hero’s we read of are just people like you and me that heard the heart of God and like Mary, realized that nothing is impossible for God and had the courage to say, “Let it be to me according to your word (intention)”.

Mother Theresa’s great response saved thousands of children from poverty and death – that was a God plan.

Reinhard Bonnke’s  great response saw millions of Africans saved and set free – that was a God plan.

How about you?  What is God saying about His intentions for your life and  how are you going to respond? I pray that you will respond as Mary did. Let your response be, “ Use me!”.

When you pray that kind of prayer anything can happen and it probably will because as the verse said, when we, like Mary, ask, “How can this be?”,  He responds, “Nothing is impossible for Me!”.

God bless you and have a great Thursday.  Speak to you more tomorrow.

Breakfast of Champions - Wednesday 25th March

Arise and Shine, breakfast is served

Luke 17: 15 – 19 (Message)

One of them, when he realized that he was healed, turned around and came back, shouting his gratitude, glorifying God. 16He kneeled at Jesus' feet, so grateful. He couldn't thank him enough--and he was a Samaritan. 17Jesus said, "Were not ten healed? Where are the nine? 18Can none be found to come back and give glory to God except this outsider?" 19 Then he said to him, "Get up. On your way. Your faith has healed and saved you."

Responding to God’s word

Responding correctly or being responsible “response – able” even affects our relationship and experience of God’s Word (the Bible).

·         You can treat the Bible like any old book and get nothing more than information from it or you can treat it like God’s ever- living word which is relevant to every situation you may face and get revelation and manifestation of life from it.

·         God’s Word was always meant to be responded to.  Remember James said of God’s Word, “don’t just be a hearer but a doer”.  When we respond with faith to what we read we activate its potential in our life and destiny.

Have you ever wondered why there are so many ‘Amen’s’ in the Bible?

  • Amen is a Hebrew word. It is a statement of response.
  • Amen means, “so be it, it is sure, yes I agree or if you’re from Portsmouth, ‘bring it on right here, right now.’” It’s an activating statement. Like the phone call that activates the potential of your newly delivered credit card so is your ‘amen’  to what you read.
  • The Bible requires a response from you when you read it if you want to release what’s in it for your life.

Today don’t just read the Bible, have a conversation with it.  When you read a promise of God that is applicable to your situation release that promise with a response, “Yes father, in Jesus name that promise is yes and amen to my life too.”

There are over 8,000 promises that are yes and amen to you but they remain words on the page till you release them with a faith-filled response.  Today read the Word and release your response.  AMEN – so be it, it is certain, bring it on!

So today make the decision to respond to God.  Respond to the people God has given you and respond to His word and promises for your life.

Have a great day.

Breakfast of Champions - Tuesday 24th March

Good morning champion

Luke 17: 15 – 19 (Message)

One of them, when he realized that he was healed, turned around and came back, shouting his gratitude, glorifying God. 16He kneeled at Jesus' feet, so grateful. He couldn't thank him enough--and he was a Samaritan. 17Jesus said, "Were not ten healed? Where are the nine? 18Can none be found to come back and give glory to God except this outsider?" 19 Then he said to him, "Get up. On your way. Your faith has healed and saved you."

We are looking at our responsibility which is “ability to respond correctly”.

Being responsive is vital for the relationships in our world to be all that they were designed to be.

·         God wants a responsive relationship with us. It was never meant to be a one way road but rather a daily interwoven relationship of us responding to Him and Him responding back-- that’s Christianity.

·         The other relationships in our world need us to remain responsive too.  For example, as a pastor I deal with an element of marriage breakdown.  The sad thing is many marriages break down simply because one or both of the people involved stop responding with “due response”.

Every healthy marriage starts with a picture of volcanic response as a man and a woman stand at the front of a church like Lady Guinevere and Prince Charming.  There is no shortage of desire or response capacity.  At the reception that follows the atmosphere is charged with the thought of responses yet to come (God designed it that way). The day is filled with excitement, expectation and joyous and arduous responses by both parties.  Sadly, for many if you then press fast forward say about ten years you get the picture of a man behind his newspaper at the kitchen table giving automated responses to His wife who is desperately wanting back the response and attention from the responsive stallion she once knew.  Instead she hears the automated statements from behind a paper, “that’s good dear”, “sounds nice dear”,  and the vibrancy of the marriage starts to ever fade.

Good news!  If he was to suddenly realize what had happened and remember what he once had and the promises that were made, and dreams they started their journey with and that morning with fresh revelation walked past the paper, spun her around looked her in the eyes and sang to her their favourite love song, that marriage would come alive again, instantly, all we added was response!

When we respond correctly things come alive and stay alive.  This principle covers every relationship we face on our journey of life.  It is relative to our children, family and friendships. Make sure you remain responsive and watch how things stay fresh and vibrant.

God bless, have a great day (men go sing to your wife).

Breakfast of Champions - Monday 23rd March

Good morning and welcome to a brand new week, with God on your side anything can happen!

Here’s a thought for you to chew on.

RSVP – power of response

Luke 17: 11 – 17 (The Message)

It happened that as he made his way toward Jerusalem, he crossed over the border between Samaria and Galilee. 12As he entered a village, ten men, all lepers, met him. They kept their distance 13but raised their voices, calling out, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!" 14Taking a good look at them, he said, "Go, show yourselves to the priests." They went, and while still on their way, became clean. 15One of them, when he realized that he was healed, turned around and came back, shouting his gratitude, glorifying God.

In this account we can learn some great lessons concerning the power of response in our lives and hopefully be challenged concerning developing our personal response ability.

In this passage we see 3 responses and all are amazing:

1.      Jesus’ response to the need of these 10 men- Leprosy had taken away their lives and shut their world down both physically and socially.  Jesus steps in and miraculously gives them their lives back.  Jesus responded to their cry for help.

2.      The response of the one who returned- He was a Samaritan which meant out of the 10 that were healed he would have been considered the least likely one to come back to say thanks.  You can hear the gratefulness and passion in His words of thanks.

3.      The lack of response from the nine who had all received miracles that day from Jesus as well as the Samaritan.

Think about the figures for a minute. Only 10% of the miracle responded in a way fitting  with what had happened.   Only one in ten responded appropriately for what had happened to them (basically, given their lives back).

Were they evil men? I don’t think so. I think they just swiftly got back into their previously normal lives that their illness had separated them from and forgot to respond correctly by coming back to Jesus and saying thanks. They understood what it was to respond when in need (they called out to Him, “Master have mercy on us!”) but they just forgot to respond correctly when God answered their cry.  Always make sure you say thanks.

Let’s make sure that we are responsive to God when we should be.  Also, in our other relationships and in life, being responsive will always bring increase into your world and make things that you have more fruitful.

My observation and experience has been that God and life give “stuff” to responsive people.  Let’s make sure that today we are responding correctly to the people and the situations that we should be.

Bless you and have a great (responsive) day.

Breakfast of Champions - Friday 20th

Good morning, welcome to Friday

1 Peter 2:9 (NKJV)
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

·         It’s good to remember and remind ourselves who we are because at the same moment we are reminding ourselves who we are not any longer!

·         Remember we always live out of what we think. We first think then we feel then we behave, this is great if our thinking is correct and based on God’s word but if our thinking is wrong or warped that will always affect the behavior or output of our daily lives.

·         Let’s look again in the mirror today and see our true identity - Chosen, Royal, Holy and His own special people.

We also need to remember we have been called out of darkness and into His marvelous light!

·         Our lives are no longer darkness but light!  We are no longer in the darkness that we once were, so we should never live like we are still there.

·         Our post code / Zip Code is now “marvelous light” don’t let your enemy try and trick you to pilgrimage backwards to darker former places but rather set your face ever forward, deeper into His brightness!

·         You were called out of darkness so ever let darkness be a thing of your past (old creation) you are now a citizen of the light, let His marvelous light shine through your life again today whether in the work place, community or home let your light shine, be that city on a hill!

Shine bright for God today in a dark world, the darker it gets the brighter our lives should become, you are called to shine, so shine!

Prayer:

Thank you Jesus that I am no longer a child of darkness but a child of light, you have delivered me from the power of darkness and translated my life into the kingdom of the Son of your love. Today let your light shine through my life I do not want to live to blend in but to stand out, help me to remember that the former ways of darkness are no longer my ways they are the ways of a place I once new not the place that I now call Home, thank you that you have made me a child of the light. Amen

Bless you have a great weekend and Shine.

Good morning person of a mighty God, here is your breakfast.

Ephesians 3:20 (NKJV)

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,

·         Remember it’s in accordance to His power (Spirit) working in us, remember today that His Spirit is at work within you and through you and that it is this divine reality that makes impossible things (things beyond your dreams) possible today in your world.

·         He is “able to do” because of His potential now resident within your life, remember his Spirit is not just with but in!  He is not relying on your ability alone but rather its now the combo of your body His Life.

John 14: 16-17 (NKJV)

And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.

·         What great news, God has these amazing plans and intentions for your life, plans so far above what you could ever imagine and He also has positioned His Spirit in you to make those dreams come into manifestation and reality, surely nothing is impossible with that God plan?

·         So remember there is a power working in you today that is beyond you!  Like Paul you can know do all things.

·         Philippians 4:13 - I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

·         You are no longer a mere man but a God filled temple. (1 Corinthians 3 1 - 4 & 16) So refuse to live like a mere man make the choice to be a temple a place where Gods spirit is resident.

Have a great day filled with God dreams and confidence.

Breakfast of Champions - Wednesday 18th March

Good morning.

Ephesians 3:20 (The Message)

God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us.

·         So we have established that He is both willing and able towards you.

·         We also know that when we reach the end point of our ability to imagine and dream concerning His plans for us He is just getting started and lives in the realm called exceedingly abundantly above and beyond what we can imagine or dream.

·         By Faith start to live more in His thoughts for you not your own, they are so much bigger!

Isaiah 55:8 (NKJV)

For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.

·         For years I thought this was a belittling statement made to let me know my place, “I am God up here and you are Andy mere human down there, my ways are high yours are low, my thoughts are great yours are little because I am God and you are my creation and that’s how it is”. Then one day I realized it was actually an invitation, it was God saying “yep my thoughts are so much higher but why don’t you come up and join me in mine”?

·         From that day I have been committed to exchanging my thoughts for His, weather those thoughts are about me, what I can do or how things could turn out.

·         He will always lift your dreams and plans to a higher place because as the heavens are higher than the earth so are his thoughts, the choice is ours again today, do I live in thoughts that are based on my mere earthly potential (what I am able to achieve by my ability or with the help of a few friends) or do I begin to dream and think bigger and higher (according to what can happen because God is with me and is the author of my destiny)?

Hey Champion, think big, think high, release your redeemed imagination to imagine what really can happen when a God who formed a universe is on your side, live extra large you only walk the pathway of your life on earth once!

Bless ya, have a great day
