=YOUR LIFE IS RIPE FOR HARVEST NOW!=
John 4: 35 (NKJV)
Do you not say, 'There are still four months and then comes the harvest'?
Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are
already white for harvest!
Here's some good advice champion, don't live your life ever thinking, "I
will do that in a few months time". The greatest time to do many things is
now. Procrastination is not a friend to your life and don't treat it like
one. Yes, there are times we do have to wait, and sometimes God makes us
wait or take time to journey towards something (pilgrimage). Other times it
is our lack of motivation or simply finding it easier or simpler to live in
a place called "I will do that later", and this is the attitude and
behaviour that I want to challenge you and me with again this morning. Jesus
told His disciples in reference to the harvest of men's souls, not four
months now! I sense there may well be delays in our lives He wants to
remove.
-Live with a sense of "Carpe Vitam"-
Most of us have heard of the Latin phrase "Carpe Diem" which means seize the
day (a more literal translation being harvest your day). I love the sense of
seizing or harvesting my day, but my day is not enough. There is more to be
harvested and that is why I found the Latin word for life and changed the
quote in my life to Carpe Vitam, seize your life!
There are many well know proverbs around today which all contain an element
of wisdom.
- A stitch in time saves nine.
- The early bird catches the worm. You know them and a lot more.
- Heard this one? You don't know what you've got till it's gone!
I want to oppose or dare to re-write that one because I don't think it suits
our lives as believers. It's simply not big enough or good enough for God
lovers. I have officially changed it in my world to this:
"KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE AND FULLY APPRECIATE IT (milk every ounce of goodness
out of it) WHILE YOU STILL HAVE IT"
Think about that today. WHAT do you have that you're not making the most of
today? Are there things or people you could appreciate a whole lot more
while you still have them?
- Health
- Youth
- Relationships
There you go, that has given you something to think about. We will carry on
tomorrow with this thought. Today, know what you have and make the most of
it, and of them, not in four months, but today. Your life is so ripe for
harvest now!
