Breakfast of Champions: Tuesday 16th February

Good morning, Champion.

Trust, Lean and Acknowledge

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

Here is yet another classic promise of God for our lives: God promises that He will direct our paths. Anyone else out there really desire the reality of this on a daily basis - God Almighty daily guiding you as you walk the pathways of life? Maybe you would say, "God never directs my paths, Andy"? Let's look at that a bit closer. I believe that, before we start accusing God of not following through, out of courtesy we need to ask ourselves if we have done (followed through) on the three things that He asks us to do first?

Trust
Are you trusting in the Lord with all your heart, or are you trusting Him with some of it while trusting in other things too, in case He doesn't come through? God is looking for us to walk in faith with Him daily, to place all of our trust in Him without having the 'just in case' back up plans or safety nets that make us feel more comfortable.

Lean
Are you leaning on God concerning the things that don't make much sense? Or are you trying to work it all out according to your limited understanding and what makes perfect sense to you? Remember, we are dealing with a God that lives outside of the boundaries of what we call possible and impossible. He is able to do anything at anytime with anyone. Make sure you're leaning on Him and His promises and not your mere ability to process or reason things! Remember, He has not asked you to be reasonable (able to reason) but faithful (full of faith).

Acknowledge
Are you including Him in the different areas or sections of your life, and in each and every situation you may be facing? Or are you doing DIY (doing it yourself) and living daily outside of His council and wisdom with certain things? As I have said before, your life is like a big old pizza, and as a pizza has different slices so do our lives: relational, financial, emotional, etc. God wants you to include wisdom and His lordship in all the slices of your life, not just selected ones.

These are three big questions to ask yourself but I believe, when we take time to make sure that we are truly trusting, leaning and acknowledging, it is then that we will know the guiding and leading of the Lord on a daily basis, and He causes us to walk on pleasant, prosperous pathways!

God bless,

Andy
